Chelsea Schmalz has been coaching for 18 years, coaching girls aged 14-18. Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba she now calls Ottawa home. She is level 2 Advanced Development Certified. Her biggest passion is for the development of young athletes while believing that it is important to win games and become better volleyball players, we use sport to teach teamwork, discipline, responsibility, EFFORT, commitment, confidence, leadership and most importantly consistency. In order to develop individual skill, players must be passionate about their own development, all while playing hard for their teammates. The goal is to get players to use their strengths to make the team stronger and in-still confidence in the player. School is a very big component of my philosophy and although developing to be a better volleyball player is important, you must be a student first. Players are always encouraged to talk about their studies. Volleyball is not supposed to be stressful, but a competitive and fun environment.
